A festive procession on the occasion of the 1030-th anniversary of the baptism of Russia headed at the end of the divine Liturgy from the Kremlin to the monument to the Holy Prince Vladimir on the Borovitsky hill.

Before this solemn service was held under the open sky on the Cathedral square of the Moscow Kremlin for the first time in modern Russian history.

Patriarchs of Moscow and all Russia Cyril and Alexandria and all Africa Theodore II lead the Church procession, which is attended by bishops and clergymen — guests from most of the local Orthodox churches, clergy of Moscow and Moscow region, as well as numerous pilgrims gathered this afternoon in the center of the Russian capital to mark the anniversary of the baptism of Rus.

The procession will reach the Borovitsky hill, where the monument to Prince Vladimir-the Baptist of Russia on the day of his memory will be committed festive prayer. As expected, the prayer will be attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
