On 60-m to year of life has died, our colleague, a great journalist, editor of the main edition of RIA Novosti, Mikhail Smirnov.

In the late 1980’s-early 1990’s, Michael worked as an editor of APN in Delhi, and then in Madras. After a trip to India, he went to work in the news Agency Interfax. Then returned to the Agency and worked for many years editor of the main edition of RIA Novosti. It was a very kind and very intelligent man, a fine editor and Indologist.
