Chelyabinsk region entered the top three regions for non-commodity non-energy exports to countries such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Iran by the end of 2017, announced on Monday a press-service of the Governor of the region.

«We are the largest region in the country by the total exports to Uzbekistan, ahead of Moscow and Moscow oblast, the second-largest region exporting country after Moscow to Iran border ahead of the Astrakhan region. Thus, according to the press service, the trade turnover of the region with Kazakhstan in 2017 amounted to $ 1.8 billion (127,9% to the similar period in 2016), including: export – 843,5 million dollars (132,3%), import – 963,9 million dollars (124,4%). Kazakhstan’s share in foreign trade turnover of the region in 2017 amounted to 23.6%, is added to the message. The main exports of steel machinery, equipment and vehicles, metals and products, food products, chemical products, mineral products, wood and pulp and paper products, textile products and shoes, according to the press service.

The trade turnover with Kyrgyzstan in 2017 amounted to 82.9 million dollars (88,1% compared to the same period in 2016), including: export – $ 82 million (105.4%), import – 900 thousand dollars (decreased in 18 times). The main exports are steel products, foodstuffs, consumer goods, said the press service.

The trade turnover with Tajikistan in 2017 amounted to 43.5 million dollars (87,3% to the similar period in 2016), including: export – 43.5 million dollars. The main exports are products of black and nonferrous metallurgy, food, consumer goods, informs a press-service.

Chelyabinsk oblast continues to increase their exports. So, at the end of the first quarter, the region ranks second among the regions exporting to Kazakhstan (an increase of 27.6% compared to the same period last year), Kyrgyzstan (growth of 18.7%), export growth in Uzbekistan in the first quarter is 55.8% compared to the first quarter of 2017, the report States.
