Moldova is interested in alternative routes of Russian gas supplies, which, in particular, is the construction of a pipeline from Romania «Iasi-Chisinau», told reporters the President Igor Dodon.
«Of course, is very important for Moldova to receive uninterrupted energy. I remember 2009, the beginning of the year, when I was Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova when it was blocked the transit of gas through Ukraine», — said Igor Dodon. He noted that this was a very serious problem for the country, and had «every day is considered to have enough gas to settlements.»
«Therefore, if you receive additional possibility to receive Russian gas via alternative routes, of course, for us it is interesting. We are investing and building the pipeline «Iasi-Chisinau». This will provide an opportunity for us to have less risks, based on the situation that occurs with transit countries,» he added.
