The President of Russia Vladimir Putin has updated the composition of the presidential Commission for strategic development of the fuel and energy sector and environmental security stated in a report published on the official Internet portal of legal information decree.

According to the document, the Commission included the Deputy Chairman of the government of the Russian Federation Alexey Gordeev and Dmitry Kozak and Minister of natural resources and ecology Dmitry Kobylkin.

In addition, the list of participants that will take part in the work of the Commission (by consent), introduced the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on ecology and environmental protection Vladimir Burmatov and General Director of «Russian grids» Pavel Livinsky.

The new members replaced those members of the Commission who previously left their posts. In particular, the Commission eliminated the former head of «Russian grids» Oleg Budargin, the former Deputy Minister of economic development Stanislav Voskresenskiy, the former Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich and Alexander Khloponin, former Minister of natural resources and ecology Sergey Donskoy, the ex-head of Rosnedra Alexander Popov and the former Chairman of the State Duma Committee on ecology and environmental protection Olga Timofeeva.

Former energy Minister of Russia Kirill Molodtsov is now part of the Commission as Deputy head of the presidential administration of the Russian Federation.

The Commission at the President on strategic development of the fuel and Energy sector and environmental security was established by the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2012. The Commission is chaired by Putin himself, the Executive Secretary — the head of «Rosneft» Igor Sechin, the representatives of big business and government. The last meeting of the Commission, which, in particular, discussed the prospects for possible changes in the taxation of the oil industry, held in October 2015. Since then, the meetings were repeatedly postponed.
