Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the establishment of long-term tariffs for electricity in technologically isolated territorial power systems, the corresponding document published on the official portal of legal information.

The document gives the regional authorities in the field of state regulation of tariffs the right to establish minimum and maximum levels of electricity prices for a period of not less than five years for power receiving equipment commissioned after July 1, 2017, for the conclusion of bilateral contracts of purchase and sale of electricity.

This is especially true for technologically isolated systems located in the territories of the far North and the Far East, explained earlier, Deputy head of the Ministry Vyacheslav Kravchenko. According to him, the adoption of the law will increase the investment attractiveness of these regions.

Now the validity of such fares does not exceed one year, which is not conducive to long-term contracts between producers and consumers, adds stability and creates a barrier to the implementation of major investment projects.
