Writer Vladimir Voinovich possessed a rare talent and an honest voice that sounded many decades, told reporters playwright Alexander Gelman.

Voinovich died Saturday night at age 85 of a heart attack. Farewell to the writer takes place on Monday in the Central house of writers.

«It is a great misfortune for the country that does not understand what happened. It was an honest voice that sounded for many decades. Sorry, to hear that voice and believe that voice very few people. Such talent is rarely given to anyone, but it is given to all, not everyone is ready to accept it» — said Gelman.

Voinovich was a fun and lively person, and a modern writer who will remain forever young, noted journalist and writer Mikhail Zygar.

«Everyone knew Vladimir as a very cheerful, live person. I didn’t feel him any distance, regardless of age and generation. I always felt that if we are not peers, people of one wave, and he’s always like kept – equally vigorously with all,» said Zygar.
