A group of prisoners in a colony №8 of Yaroslavl went on hunger strike, «demanding the establishment of preferential terms of serving of punishment», said the Federal penitentiary service in the region.

«IK-8 UFSIN of Russia across Yaroslavl region group of inmates previously committed gross violations of the order of punishment contained in a single cell-type facility (EPKT), filed notices of the refusal of food, requiring the creation of favorable conditions of serving the sentence», — is spoken in the message.

The institution directed the Commission of the UFSIN of Russia for the Yaroslavl region, representatives of the Prosecutor’s office of the Ombudsman for human rights in the region and public monitoring Committee.

«The administration of the institution with all the prisoners interviewed, explanatory character. Conducted a medical examination of prisoners. The situation in the colony is controlled, the institution complied with the order of the day», — informs the Agency.
