No decisions on the introduction of utilization fee on the bikes in Russia are not accepted; Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak did not support this initiative, instructing further study it, reported RIA Novosti, Deputy Prime Minister Ilya Dzhus.

Last week, a representative of the Ministry of industry and trade of the Russian Federation told RIA Novosti that the Ministry is considering the option of entering the recycling fee for bicycles and Bicycle frames.

«At a meeting with Kozak on support for the aluminium industry, among other measures discussed was the idea of introducing a car recycling fee for bicycles. Deputy Prime Minister, the proposal is not supported, instructing him to discuss further. Accordingly, any decisions on collection is not accepted,» said Dzhus.

The Ministry has developed amendments to the law of 24 June 1998 No. 89-FZ «On wastes of production and consumption», giving the government the power to define certain types of engineering products in respect of which it is planned to establish a recycling fee and procedure of its administration and the size of the bet. At the moment, the Ministry is discussing with the expert and industry community a list of such equipment.
