Prime Minister of Lithuania Saulius Squirrels stated that the recommendations from the National center on cybersecurity of Lithuania on the use of smartphone applications «Yandex.Taxi» concern, first and foremost, state institutions and civil servants, and residents must make their own decision.

«I believe that each of us needs to assess the situation. The threat is announced: the collection of data. I suggest not to use the program. And the Ministry, which is responsible for our cyber security, I have to say clearly, unsafe or insufficiently safe program. For state authorities this recommendation should definitely be mandatory,» he declared on Tuesday to journalists Squirrels.

Last week in Lithuania earned the service «Yandex.Taxi». Some Lithuanian politicians appealed to the Department of state security with the request, is not liable if a service is a threat to the security of the Republic, as the mobile app supposedly can collect and organize confidential information about the passengers. In «Yandex.Taxi» claim that the service works in accordance with EU legislation, I believe the accusations are unfounded. Later, the national center for cybersecurity at the Ministry of defence advised the residents not to be installed on the smartphones program until clarification of all circumstances. This recommendation applies to civil servants and officials, employees of the defense system.
