During the meeting on Friday, she recalled that in direct elections of the highest officials of constituent entities of the Russian Federation which will pass in the uniform voting day on September 9 in 22 regions of the country, there were 172 candidates, including 25 independents. The other 147 people were nominated by 34 parties.

«Overall, 103 candidates registered, that is, almost 60% 59,88% of the number of nominated candidates; among them 100 people nominated by 17 parties and three candidates proposed by the nomination,» said Pamfilova.

The CEC head also said that in the elections of this level, «35 candidates denied registration, i.e. slightly more than 20% from among the nominated candidates.» Among them 29 party candidates and six independent candidates. 34 a candidate for Governor from among the nominated, according to Pamfilova, have refused the further participation in elections.

In addition, on September 9 in 16 subjects of the Russian Federation will choose deputies of the respective regional parliaments. In the elections of heads of capitals of subjects of the Russian Federation which will pass in the uniform voting day in Yakutsk, Abakan, Khabarovsk and Tomsk, were nominated a total of 39 candidates, including 27 people from 17 parties, and 12 candidates were put forward in the self.

«Twenty-eight candidates are registered, this is almost 72 per cent, including 23 candidates nominated by 13 parties, and 5 self-nominated candidates. Six candidates denied registration, and five candidates have refused further participation in the elections», — said the CEC head.
