«The situation with the shooting of the film about Basil stone. It is unacceptable when someone is trying to influence Ukrainian cinema and to replace historical truth on the best someone. We don’t have to put up with it! Therefore, I charge the leadership of the Ministry of culture and the state in the shortest possible time to collect the filmmakers and the public to understand and to do everything possible to in the film, the story of my countryman — a true patriot and fighter for freedom of Ukraine Vasyl Stus was spoken honestly, truthfully, completely and without distortion. It is a matter of honor» — written by Groisman on his page on the social network Facebook.

Vasyl Stus was a Ukrainian poet and dissident, who in 1980 the Kiev city court sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and five years exile.
