Two former police officers of the Moscow metro received a prison sentence for what detained the passenger, who made his remark about Smoking, according to the website of the Moscow Prosecutor’s office.

«The Tagansky district court of Moscow issued a guilty verdict in the criminal case against two former police officers of the now company of the battalion PPSP UVD on the Moscow metro GU MVD of Russia in Moscow Alexey Burulko and Nicholas Pervakova. They are convicted of a crime under article «excess of powers of office made with application of violence», — stated in the message.

It is established that on 25 August 2016, the police detained a man near the metro station «Taganskaya-radial». The reason for this was the remark addressed to the law enforcement authorities about inadmissibility of Smoking in a public place.

The Prosecutor added that the court sentenced to Pervakova 3 years 9 months imprisonment, and, Burulko – to 3,5 years with serving punishment in a correctional colony of General regime. The court also deprived them of the right to occupy posts in law enforcement bodies within two years.
