Church of the XIX century in the village of Mayak in the Tula region appeared in the smoke due to a nearby farm building fire, but the staff GUMCHS not let the fire spread to the temple, told RIA Novosti the representative office.

According to official data GUMCHS in the region, the message about the fire was received at 19.15 GMT. Burned outbuildings.

«Upon arrival on the scene in 19.18, firefighters have begun to eliminate burning. Open burning is eliminated in 21.12. There were no injuries. As a result of incident has burnt down wooden household outbuilding with size of 6×8 m, brick built outbuilding with size 10×8 m burned the inside completely», — is spoken in the message.

The representative of the Ministry told RIA Novosti that the building was found very close to the Church of St. Nicholas, built in the XIX century, and the fire threatened the temple.

«The Church was covered in smoke, the wind was blowing in that direction, of course, the fire could spread, but firefighters prevented the spread of fire,» — said the Agency interlocutor.
