The Volgograd court has extended till November 12 the measure of restraint in the form of house arrest Leonid Zhdanov – the owner of the boat station on the Volga, whence came the catamaran collided with a barge that led to the deaths of 11 people, reported RIA Novosti his lawyer Nikolai Temples.

On the evening of 11 June on the Volga river near the cargo port of the Voroshilov district of Volgograd there was a collision of the barge with the catamaran. On Board the passenger ship were 16 people, 11 of them were killed, including minors, five saved.

On suspicion in infringement of safety rules of movement and operation of transport that caused the death of the people arrested was the owner of the boat station of Pristan, OOO Leonid Zhdanov. According to investigators, it does not prevent the escape of the water of the catamaran.

The Central district court of June 14, Zhdanov was elected a measure of restraint in form of arrest for two months. The decision was appealed, and Zhdanov from prison was placed under house arrest until August 12. The measure was extended to Nov.

«The measure of restraint in the form of house arrest was extended until November 12, 2018, and prior to this date extended investigation. We have filed an appeal against the court’s decision. The date of examination has not yet appointed», — told RIA Novosti news Agency the lawyer of the owner of the station Nikolai Temples.
