Perseid meteor shower — spectacular, unforgettable sight, but to get pleasure from its contemplation, it is necessary to adhere to certain rules, the most important thing is to have patience, told RIA Novosti the scientific Director of Moscow planetarium Faina Rublev.

From 11 to 13 August, the inhabitants of the Earth can observe the maximum of a meteor shower Perseid formed a swarm from comet swift-tuttle. The Perseids are famous not only a large number of meteors per night, but the presence in their composition of bright and beautiful «falling stars», often leaving a trail after the flight. Often there are very bright meteors — fireballs, comparable in brightness with the full Moon.

«Most importantly, you need a lot of attention and patience, because people sometimes believe that the Perseids meteor showers in General — just look at the sky and they rain down on you like some fireworks,» said Rublev.

In addition, according to experts, we need good weather, but also easy to observe the place, to open the horizon and there was no illumination of the night sky. «This is best done outside the city, in the country where there is enough dark around, where flat terrain, do not obstruct the horizon, some high buildings,» added Rubleva.

According to her, the meteor showers happen quite often, but most of them happen during the day when they are not visible. Some happen when the weather is bad, for example, a thread is the Leonids in November, when Russia rarely favorable conditions for its observation.

«But the Perseids just occur at the most convenient time when the heat of summer, but already the days are getting shorter, nights becoming longer. And, therefore, to observe the Perseids as comfortable as possible,» said planetarium Director.

This year, according to Ruble, it will be possible to observe several dozen meteor flashes per minute, or up to one hundred meteor bursts per hour. But when observing the night sky, we must note that it will take some time to learn how to identify them. «It is often peripheral vision. See the flash — and still not have time to realize what it is, and then we are waiting. Depending on the traffic intensity, more often, sometimes less often,» she said.

She Rublev will also observe the Perseids this weekend. She wished «everyone who wants to join the observation of this colorful phenomena of nature, good weather, good conditions, a lot of attention, a lot of patience». «It should not be forgotten, it is remembered for a lifetime,» said she. The expert reminded that the flow is best seen with the naked eye, like any optical device narrows the viewing angle.
