Russian cargo ship «Progress MS-10» in October for the first time in history, will launch to the International space station from the Baikonur cosmodrome on the carrier rocket «Soyuz-FG», designed to launch astronauts, told RIA Novosti source in the space industry.

To date, «Soyuz-FG» launched 64 times, of which only the first three test launches of the rocket used to launch cargo ships. A few times it was used to send to space for commercial satellites, but most of the launches were conducted from manned vehicles.

«The launch of the cargo ship is planned at 3.53 GMT on 31 October», — the interlocutor told.

He said that the launch will be held on the rocket «Soyuz-FG» due to the fact that at one time these rockets have been manufactured a large number, and the launches of manned spacecraft is gradually transferred from these media to the new rocket «Soyuz-2». Since last year all cargo ships have already been launched this media type.

The last rocket «Soyuz-FG» must be made in mid-2019, said the source.
