The parties could not come to consensus on all issues of cooperation in the Caspian sea, said Saturday the Minister of foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kayrat Abdrakhmanov.

«Despite the fact that initially the positions were at times diametrically opposed, sides, applied, thanks to diplomatic efforts, the progressive willingness to compromise seek mutually acceptable solutions, was able to reach consensus on all matters relating to cooperation in the Caspian sea», — said Abdrakhmanov, opening the meeting of foreign Ministers of the Caspian countries.

He noted that «the evidence of this is submitted for signing by the presidents of the draft Convention on the legal status of the Caspian sea».

«To date, we came up with consolidated approaches regarding the limits of sovereignty, sovereign and exclusive rights of coastal States, regime of navigation, of freedom of access by all means of transport from the Caspian sea to the oceans and back, on laying pipelines and other key issues,» said Abdrakhmanov.
