Iran intends to expand cooperation with the Caspian countries in the energy sector, including transportation fuels, said the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

In the Kazakh city of Aktau held a meeting of leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran, the results of which will be signed for the region historical document — the Convention on the status of the Caspian sea, worked on it for 22 years.

«It is advisable in the framework of joint committees to create and simplify the conditions for shipping companies and travel agencies. Cooperation in the field of energy, including transportation energy, performing energy, sworovski operations are other important topics of cooperation in the Caspian sea. We started working in this area with some of the littoral States and a serious will to continue and expand,» said Rouhani at the V summit of the «Caspian five».

«Iran is ready to take steps to implement its strategic and regional role in the development of trade and transport. Today the Caspian sea as a very important strategic region is the center of friendship, cooperation and integration between governments and their peoples. This region has become a successful model for guarantees of peace and good neighborliness. This summit is a step towards greater integration in the region,» the President added.
