Japan continues to view nuclear and missile weapons of the DPRK threat to their security, according to a published Tuesday in Tokyo, the White paper on defence in 2018.

As noted in the document, despite promises of North Korean leader Kim Jong UN to carry out complete denuclearization, subject to the availability of and placement in North Korea, hundreds of missiles «Nodong» capable of reaching almost any point in Japan, as well as building the operational capabilities of nuclear weapons and missiles, in the basic position of Japan about the threat changes.

Estimated Japanese military, Pyongyang was able to achieve miniaturization of nuclear warheads in order to equip their ballistic missiles.

As noted in the White paper, the goal of the DPRK is to improve the technical reliability of ballistic missiles of distant radius of action, to improve the accuracy and operational capabilities of massive strikes, to raise the ability of sudden attacks and to diversify the types of missile launches.
