The court granted the petition for reduction of penalty to the owner of the Perm club «the Lame horse» Anatoly Zak who is serving punishment in the case of fire with 156 casualties, counting the term of imprisonment in connection with the entry into force of the law «day and a half,» the court order came into force on Tuesday, according to the materials of the Kopeysk town court.

A fire in club «Lame horse» became the largest on number of victims in post-Soviet Russia. It took place on December 5, 2009 and claimed the lives of 156 people, dozens of people were injured, some of them was disabled. Zach in April 2013 was sentenced to 9 years and 10 months imprisonment. In addition, the court ordered Zak to compensate the victims for moral and material harm.

«The Kopeysk town court on August 22 upheld the petition for reduction of penalty in connection with the application of the new law (article 397, paragraph 13, of the RF criminal code «exemption from punishment or commutation of punishment…) against Anatoly Zak.
