The U.S. position on the middle East the UN Agency for assistance to Palestinian refugees and works (UNRWA) aims to eradicate the issue of refugees from Palestine, said a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine liberation Organization (PLO) Hanan Ashrawi.

«Such aggressive policies of American and Israel against UNRWA aims to destroy in the end the question of (Palestinian) refugees,» Ashrawi said at a meeting with Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Konstantin Kosachev.

While Ashrawi noted that between Russia and Palestine, there is political dialogue at all levels, for which the Palestinian side be grateful in particular for his support in the Palestinian issue.

The official U.S. state Department spokesman Heather Nauert said earlier that the United States will no longer make contributions to UNRWA. Nauert criticized the organization of work of the organization and how the Agency was ordered allocations. She noted that the United States will intensify the discussion of the question of assistance to refugees with the UN, the authorities of the countries hosting them, as well as with interested international players. The Secretary-General of the Palestine liberation Organization (PLO) Saeb Erakat criticized this decision, his regret was expressed by the UN Secretary-General antónio Guterres and the EU strongly condemned the actions of the United States and Turkey.
