At least 76 people were killed and 75, including children, were missing and thousands were left homeless in the floods in the West of the DPRK, the statement said the International Federation of red cross and red Crescent societies (IFRC).

«Thousands of people lost their homes and are in urgent need of medical care, shelter, safe drinking water» — presented in the statement of the word of IFRC staff member John Fleming.

According to published reports, the floods and landslides caused by heavy rains in Western regions of the country more than 800 buildings, including residential premises, hospitals and schools were destroyed.

IFRC volunteers are now engaged in the search for survivors. In turn, the red cross society of the DPRK is engaged in supply of the region with the necessities of life and to organize transportation of injured to nearby hospitals.
