Foreign partners of Russia on the International space station will have to use spaceships Soyuz for missions in orbit at least until spring 2020 before they will be able to transfer to American ships, told RIA Novosti source in the space industry.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said that the contract obligations of Russia on delivery of American astronauts to the ISS will be completed in spring 2019.

«Flights of foreign astronauts on the Russian spacecraft «Soyuz-MS», likely to last until the spring of 2020,» — said the Agency interlocutor.

According to him, this follows from the schedule as already approved crews of the ships «Union» and plans for the first private manned flights of the American ships Crew Dragon and CST-100 Cockpit. The first crews, according to the approved schedule, will be able to go to the ISS in April and mid-2019.

The timing of the second manned space flight are not known, but most likely it will take until mid-2019, says an expert.

«After that, NASA expects to begin regular flights of the new ships to the ISS. But the graph looks too optimistic, which, incidentally, took place throughout the development of new ships to Boeing and SpaceX. There is still the likelihood of further shift in the schedule of Assembly and test flights of the ships», — he said.

Now international crews approved until the spring of 2020.

In addition to international crews are trained to fly in this and early 2019, the crew of «Soyuz MS-13» included the European astronaut Luca Parmitano and American astronaut Andrew Morgan. In October next year on the «Soyuz MS-15» with the Russian cosmonauts will go to the American astronaut Christopher Cassidy.

In March 2020, «Soyuz MS-16» scheduled flight of American astronaut Thomas Marshburn and Japanese astronaut, Noguchi Soichi.

Flights of American astronauts on the period from 2019 will be carried out under contract with Boeing, RSC Energia within the framework of debt repayment by Russian companies, said the source.
