Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu previously announced plans to build a temple for the 75th anniversary of Victory in the great Patriotic war. Answering the question about who will be the Abbot of the temple Archpriest Sergiy Privalov said that while it is not known, since construction will take place, «at least two and a half years».

Four of the throne will be dedicated to the patron Saint of the Armed forces and the armed forces: the Holy Prince Alexander Nevsky — the patron Saint of the Land forces, the Holy prophet Elijah — the patron Saint of videoconferencing and airborne, the Holy Apostle Andrew — the patron Saint of the Navy and the Saint great Martyr Varvara — the patron of the strategic missile forces.
