Experts from the world Health Organization (who) stated that 1.4 billion people in the future face the risk of diabetes 2 diabetes type, cardiovascular disease, dementia, breast cancer and colon due to insufficient physical activity.

A study published in the Lancet Global Health on the eve of the third high-level meeting of the UN General Assembly on the problem of noncommunicable diseases and their risk factors, which will be held on September 27 in new York.

Dr. Regina Guthold, lead author of the study notes that more than a quarter of adults are insufficiently active lifestyle. And this trend still persists.

From 2001 to 2016, the inhabitants of Western countries with high income and Latin America and the Caribbean began to spend less time with physical activity. Scientists explain that the transition to a sedentary lifestyle, increasing leisure time and the fact that in these regions an increasing preference for road transport. At the same time, in countries with lower income people have more physical activity at work and less access to «passive» modes of transport.

According to who recommendations, people aged 18-64 years should give moderate pressure at least 150 minutes a week or 75 minutes of intense.

A survey conducted among people over 18 years old, have covered 1.9 million people from 168 countries.
