A bill postponing the elections to bodies of state power and bodies of local self-government from second Sunday September to last Tuesday in April to the state Duma, appears from the electronic database of the lower house of Parliament.

«The bill proposes to postpone the election to bodies of state power and bodies of local self-government from the second Sunday in September to the last Tuesday of April», — stated in the explanatory Memorandum.

The authors of the initiative deputies of the state Duma from LDPR Vadim Denikin, Mikhail Degtyarev and Boris Chernyshov — note that this approach will provide greater efficiency in the electoral process both from the point of view of carrying out the procedure of elections, including candidate registration and election campaigning, and from the viewpoint of improving the electoral activity of citizens.

The paper also proposed to bring uniformity to the date of elections to the state Duma and the date of election to the authorities of the RF subjects and local authorities.

«The adoption of this draft law is extremely important today because it allows to take into account recent experience gained in the course of the election campaign in 2016, and will allow legislation to improve the electoral process in the Russian Federation», — added the authors.

The next elections in Russia will take place this Sunday, September 9. This year the single day of voting will be direct election of the heads 22 regions of Russia, deputies of legislative bodies of the 16 subjects of the Russian Federation, at the same time will be about 6 thousand election campaigns for the elections of local self-government. In seven single-mandate constituencies held by-elections to the state Duma.
