The representative who is visiting Crimea, the U.S. delegation public figures Sylvia Demarest said that the Crimean Peninsula became part of Russia legally.

«I’m a lawyer by education. I understand that what happened in Crimea in 2014 was the legitimate will of the people and the expression of the legitimate right to self-determination, that everything was conducted in the framework of the law,» said Demarest RIA Novosti.

The US delegation consisting of four people located in the Crimea for three days. It includes representatives of the American organization «Center of civil initiatives».
