Youth orchestra Bashmet for the first time will go on tour in Asia

The performance of the Russian youth Symphony orchestra under the baton of Yuri Bashmet will be held on Friday at the Tchaikovsky concert hall in Moscow and will start the tour team for Asia that will last until September 17.

In the Asian tour, the orchestra will perform in Vladivostok, Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing and Seoul.

As a soloist on the concert opening on Friday, the orchestra will perform a young Chinese pianist, winner of numerous competitions, Jiggi San.

All-Russian youth Symphony orchestra was established in 2012. He was already on tour in Vienna, Berlin, Milan, Geneva. Participated in the closing of the Olympics in Sochi and the opening of the world Cup in Moscow.

«And now we go on their first tour of the countries of Asia. And just so full: Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing and Seoul. Three countries, major concert halls, new audience. But I’m sure it’ll be great,» said Bashmet before the gig.

He added that the youth Symphony orchestra «is the staff, always full of energy and a kind of peculiar emotional States on stage during concerts, as it is in any country produces on the audience a great impression.»

The tour programme world-famous masterpieces of classical music: Symphony No. 5 Shostakovich, Concerto for violin and orchestra by Tchaikovsky, Grieg Concerto for piano and orchestra, Fantasia on themes from the music of the cycle «silk road» Zhao Tsipina, as well as a play by the young Russian composer, specially commissioned by the orchestra – «journey to the orchestra» Kuzma Bodrov.

Each of the concerts the orchestra will be joined by soloist from the country, a member of the tour. For example, in Singapore, along with the orchestra will include a performance by talented young violinist who became a laureate of the international Yehudi Menuhin competition in Geneva Chloe Chua. In Beijing and Shanghai to be the soloist will be pianist, Jiggi San, and Seoul Philharmonic orchestra will perform the famous Korean pianist, Kim Daijin. The orchestra will feature Korean folk song «Arirang».
