Arrested in Ukraine, the head of RIA news Ukraine Kirill Vyshinsky became a laureate of the Russian award «tuning Fork» name Anna Politkovskaya, which is annually awarded by the Union of journalists of Russia (szhr) to the international day of solidarity of journalists, the correspondent of RIA Novosti.

«This year, the jury overwhelmingly decided to award the prize «tuning Fork» Wyszynski Kirill Olegovich», — said the Chairman of the Russian Union of journalists Vladimir Solovyov.

The international day of solidarity of journalists is celebrated on 8 September. Date was established in 1958 by the decision of the Congress of the International organization of journalists. It is 8 September 1943, the Nazis were executed in Berlin Czechoslovak journalist and literary critic Julius Fucik. In prison he managed to write a book «Reporting with a noose around his neck».

The award was established by the Secretariat of the Union of journalists August 30, 2013, the birthday of murdered journalist Anna Politkovskaya and awarded for achievements in the field of protection of human rights and freedom of the press.

Vyshinsky more than 100 days is under arrest on charges of Kiev in support of the breakaway republics of Donbass and treason. It has not allowed Russian consular officials, citing the fact that Wyszynski Ukrainian citizenship. The Russian foreign Ministry described the actions of Kiev against the RIA Novosti Ukraine as a tyranny. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has called them unacceptable. The Embassy of Russia has sent the Ukrainian foreign Ministry two notes with a demand to stop violence against the media.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Wyszynski was arrested «for his direct professional activities, for exercising his journalistic functions,» and stressed that the arrest of Vyshinsky — «absolutely unprecedented and totally unacceptable policy of the current Ukrainian rulers, it should be appropriately reflected in the reaction of the journalistic community and international human rights organizations.» He also expressed the hope that it will be possible to secure the release of Wyszynski, including by means of pressure on Ukraine in international organizations.

The OSCE representative on freedom of the media, Harlem Desir expressed serious concern about the actions of Ukrainian authorities in relation to RIA Novosti Ukraine in Kiev. He recalled that, «in accordance with the Helsinki final act, the participating countries of the OSCE have committed themselves to promote conditions that will enable journalists from one participating country to conduct their professional activities in another.»Vyshinsky became a laureate of the prize of Union of journalists of Russia© RIA Novosti / Vitaly Policystat dissent
