Voter turnout on elections of the Governor of the Voronezh region made up 15.36%, according to on 12.00 Moscow time, have informed RIA Novosti the representative of the election Committee.

The Voronezh region Governor is elected for 5 years and cannot hold office more than two consecutive terms. For the post of head of the region there are six candidates: acting head of the Voronezh region Alexander Gusev from the «United Russia» Nikolay Voronin of the Communist party, Arkady Minakov from «homeland» Igor Perevezentsev from the «Party of growth», Vitaly Klimov from «Fair Russia» Oleg Burtsev from the liberal democratic party.

«According 12.00 (GMT), the turnout in the region amounted 15.36%, in Voronezh — 6,87%,» — said the Agency interlocutor.

The region has 1739 polling stations (454 — in Voronezh), of which 209 are equipped with complexes of processing of ballots (COHIBA), 207 video surveillance. As of 1 July 2018, the number of voters in the Voronezh region amounted to 1 859 725 people.

In the last gubernatorial elections in the Voronezh region at 12.00 GMT the voter turnout made up 17.94%. In the presidential election in March this year, this time voted of 22.48% of the voters.
