Presidential Plenipotentiary envoy to the far Eastern Federal district Yuri Trutnev video conference gave the start of the first mini-LNG plant in the far East, which is located on Sakhalin island.

«Today we are launching in the village of Far the first phase of the plant, the company plans to build the second and third lines, as well as LNG plant in the town of Poronaysk», — he said during the ceremony.

The project mini-factory is implemented in 2016. Its total cost amounted to 836 million rubles. Additional tax revenues in budgets of all levels from plant operation will be until 2026 more than 300 million rubles, the increase of the gross regional product are expected to be 1.2 billion rubles, the press service of the Ministry.

The official launching ceremony of the plant took place during the exhibition «Street of the Far East» in the framework of the fourth Eastern economic forum. In the ceremony of commissioning of the plant on the stand of the Sakhalin region, apart from Trutnev, was attended by the Minister for Far East development Alexander Kozlov, Governor of the Sakhalin region Oleg Kozhemyako.

«For the Sakhalin region this project is of particular importance. The plant will provide liquefied natural gas remote settlements, transfer of vehicles to environmentally friendly natural gas. And this in turn will have a positive impact on the environment,» said Kozhemyako.

According to the head of the region, to ensure that such projects are successfully developed in the area will be additional measures of support. Currently, changes in regional legislation in terms of compensation costs in the amount of 70% of the cost of equipment subject to delivery and installation.

«Our task in the coming years to ensure that the maximum number of area residents with gas network and liquefied, as well as significantly increase the number of cars running on environmentally friendly natural gas. So we see the result of the joint work of the regional government, municipalities and businesses, including our partners from public joint stock company «Gazprom», — said the Governor.

Mini-LNG plant built in the village of far, part of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. The first stage was built NGV station. As a result, in the regional center compressed gas is used to fuel vehicles. Mini-plant was the second part of the project.

The plant capacity will amount to 12750 tonnes per year and automobile gas filling station capacity 10800 thousand cubic meters per year with mobile avtogazservis. Used in the production of natural gas produced in the framework of the project «Sakhalin-2». Main consumers are the enterprises of housing and communal services of the Sakhalin region, which is currently mainly working on liquid and solid fuel. In remote villages of LNG will be transported by special vehicles. Later the liquefied gas will start to flow and the Kuril Islands.
