All local Orthodox churches with concern the recent actions of Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople in Ukraine, said the Deputy Chairman of Department for external Church relations (DECR) of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Archpriest Mykolai Danylevych.

«I know that all the local churches concerned about this development. And I want to say that, in fact, it will not benefit anyone, because the split is not legalized,» he said. in an interview posted Tuesday on the website of the Synodal information and educational Department of the UOC.

In his opinion, the actions of the Patriarchate of Constantinople the institution of autocephaly in Ukraine can only lead to the breakdown of relationships and Eucharistic communion between the churches. «This will generate a split, and this will lose everything,» he said.

As explained by the representative of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Ukrainian Church organization, who are now in schism, still does not recognize none of the local churches. «Because nobody wants to join in the conflict. That is, the real recognition will not» — said the Belarusian.

Earlier support for the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was expressed by the Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos, who in the course of the meeting with the Ukrainian pilgrims, headed by Metropolitan of Zaporozhye and Melitopol Luke urged them to «stick with their Primate». Also the Archbishop of the Church of Czech lands and Slovakia Joachim wished Metropolitan Onufry and his entire flock of hardness «in all the tests.»

Last Friday, the Ecumenical Patriarchate announced that «in preparation for the granting of autocephaly of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine» was appointed its Exarch in Kyiv. This decision strongly condemned the Moscow Patriarchate, calling it an intrusion on the canonical territory of other local churches. The Chairman of the Department for external Church relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Hilarion said that the Moscow Patriarchate will break Eucharistic communion with the Patriarchate of Constantinople in the event of the giving them the autocephaly of the Ukrainian Church.
