The Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill on Tuesday dedicated the new temple of the new martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church in Norilsk.

«Today ends my stay on the Taimyr Peninsula, is the end of my journey through this important part of the Russian North. I was in Dudinka, Getinge, and now with you making here the consecration of this temple. Three years ago Norilsk itself was different, and today I was seen very important changes,» he said.

Addressing the faithful in the Day of sobriety, which is celebrated in Russia on Tuesday, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church urged all to pay more attention to their health and not to succumb to harmful temptations. «We need to support our lives, to take care of health. This is particularly relevant to the Northern edges. Drunkenness is one of the most terrible and formidable of phenomena that bring the greatest number of deaths,» — said the Patriarch.

He noted that overcoming this problem requires constant work on yourself. «Even a very comfortable life does not solve the internal problems of man. Only the people able to respond to their internal challenges and problems, and to stop where necessary. Man must work on himself», — said the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church.

The decision to build a temple of new martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church was made in 2014 when they formed the Norilsk diocese. The Church is designed for 300 seats, it will operate the Sunday school and a library. Financing took over the company «Norilsk Nickel».
