Russia’s position on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija is Serbia’s position, said the first Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Serbian foreign Minister Ivica Dacic.

«Their position, like ours, is to preserve the territorial integrity of Serbia and non-recognition of the unilateral act (the Declaration of independence — ed.), Pristina. This position does not contradict what we do», — quotes Agency Tanjug, Dacic’s statement. «Russia has said it will support everything that the Serbian side believes meets its interests,» — said the foreign Minister of Serbia.

Kosovo Albanian structures in Pristina in February 2008 unilaterally declared independence from Serbia. The Serbian authorities under pressure from Brussels and the region of convergence with the European Union, as well as for the sake of ease of life in the region, Serbian citizens in 2011 were forced to start negotiations on the normalization of relations with Kosovo Albanians with the mediation of the EU. The largest agreements are the Brussels agreement on principles governing the normalization of relations of Belgrade and Pristina signed in April 2013, and the agreement on the Community of Serb communities, signed by the parties in August 2015. This latest Brussels time to execute these agreements on August 4, was not observed Pristina, which led to increased tension in Kosovo.-
