Firefighters and military personnel extinguish a large fire at a military training ground «Pogonovo» in the Voronezh, which burn about 90 acres of woodland and grass, said Tuesday RIA Novosti representative of the regional forest fire centre.

At the end of August the rescuers for the first time this year declared emergency fire danger due to extreme heat throughout the region. «This afternoon from the residents of nearby settlements began to receive information about the fire at the landfill «Pogonovo» in the Khokholsky district. Now the fire covered 90 acres — forest, grass,» — said the Agency interlocutor.

According to him, extinguishing the fire involved 52 people from the emergencies Ministry and the regional forest fire centre. Also the elimination of ignition involved in the military. The cause of the fire is established.

Natural fires in 2010 destroyed in the Voronezh region, about 20 thousand hectares of forest. Burned 309 homes and more than 800 outbuildings in 21 settlements. Without housing there are 720 people (359 families), six people were killed. The damage from fires has made about 1.5 billion rubles. Cause of fire was not only heat waves, but also the violation of fire safety rules in forests.
