The authorities of St. Petersburg will give national and University library of Republika Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina, artistic and educational literature in the Russian language, and gymnasium Banja Luka with advanced study of Russian language – computer equipment, told RIA Novosti the Governor of the city Georgy Poltavchenko.

«The gymnasium we will give the gift of computer equipment to equip a computer classroom. And University library planning to convey artistic and educational literature in the Russian language. Among the books that will be donated to the Foundation library – the works of Russian classics, Pushkin, Krylov, Chekhov and Tolstoy. As well as books about Russian culture — the ABCs of Russian painting, books about the architecture of St. Petersburg and the literary heroes on the streets of St. Petersburg, books to read for kids 5-7 and 7-10 years, textbooks on Russian history for the 8th, 9th and 10th grade, books about the siege of Leningrad and Saint-Petersburg», — he said ahead of his visit to the Republic of Srpska.

The Governor recalled that in February this year for readers of the national and University library of Republika Srpska centre was opened remote access to resources of the Presidential library named after Yeltsin. Visitors to a remote electronic reading room have access to the entire Fund, which has more than 600 thousand units of storage.

«The Presidential library provides free access thematic collection «From the history of Russian-Serbian relations». In the collection you can see the individual research of archival, journalistic and other materials on Serbian history and reflect the Russian-Serbian cooperation in military, economic and cultural spheres in different historical periods,» — said Poltavchenko.

According to him, libraries are planning to implement joint scientific and cultural projects. Funds of both institutions is planned to make the national electronic documents and information materials.

In the coming days the delegation of St. Petersburg headed by Governor Georgy Poltavchenko will visit the Republic of Srpska. During the visit it is planned to discuss cooperation with its leaders, is scheduled to meet with representatives of political, business and social circles, attending the gymnasium in Banja Luka with advanced study of Russian language, the national and University library of Republika Srpska. The parties intend to discuss questions of development of cooperation in the field of healthcare, energy, tourism and culture.
