Monaco creates a space Agency and an investment Fund to Finance startups in the field of space technology, told the newspaper Financial Times Deputy Prime Minister Etienne Schneider.

According to him, the Agency will lead all national space programmes and to coordinate relations with the European space Agency. Schneider noted that a new Agency, unlike NASA, is not going to deal with missile launches, and «will focus on business activity in space.»

Officially, the creation of the Agency and Fund will be announced on Wednesday afternoon, the newspaper said.

The publication notes that in Luxembourg is a developed space industry, in particular, the major satellite operator SES. In August last year the government legalised the mining of minerals in outer space by private Luxembourg companies.
