Part of the work of participants of children’s literary contest «Summer of the Lord» in recent years devoted to the events in the Donbas and in the Luhansk region, said on Wednesday at a press conference in MIA «Russia today», Chairman of the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church Metropolitan Kliment of Kaluga and Borovsk.

According to him, the results of international children’s and youth literary contest named after Ivan Shmelev «Leto Gospodne» published collection «a Ray of sunshine gold» with a circulation of 3 thousand copies. It included the works of the finalists of the contest, including living in the Donbass.

«Children write about their pain and their joy. Write interesting, vividly describe the lives of ordinary people and how it affects them. To many of the problems we have opinion formed by the media, and they talk about it, and it turns out very interesting… In the works of Donetsk children talk about the difficult life they experienced, how they perceive it,» — said Metropolitan Kliment.

According to the organizers, every year the competition from five to eight works come from the regions of Luhansk and Donetsk.

«We are especially open to them, because we understand that we must help local children who cannot speak, live in difficult conditions, both physical and moral,» said the winner of the Patriarchal literary prize poet Yury kublanovsky. He said that from Kiev, due to objective circumstances, children’s work now comes to the competition.

«Slavs Slavs, its on its own, it’s scary – in these works, too, found it. This amazing pain for what is happening in Donetsk and Lugansk… One small grader wrote poems about Ukraine, about the fact that we have the same one Easter, we have Holy ones. And it was so simply said and so truly, deeply – to tears touched,» — said in turn, the chief editor of the magazine «Literature in school» Hope Krupina.

International children’s and youth literary contest named after Ivan Shmelev «Leto Gospodne» is held by the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church with the blessing of Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill. The fifth season of the competition this year was opened on 1 September.
