Moscow proceeds from the fact that all territorial questions between Russia and Japan will ever be resolved, said President of Russia Vladimir Putin at the Eastern economic forum.

Earlier Putin at the plenary session «the far East: expanding opportunities» at the Eastern economic forum has proposed to conclude a peace Treaty between Russia and Japan before the end of the year, without preconditions. In addition, the President added that the need to create an environment for comfortable solving all other problems.

«Because they don’t wear, I think some of this is fundamental, of great importance for the economy for our. Well, look at the map of the Russian Federation is a huge country, the largest in the world, and these Islands. It all matters moral and political, political and moral properties, but they are very acute and sensitive to our peoples, so with this in mind, it is necessary to be careful to approach these issues. We will strive to ensure that the situation was comfortable for all these issues, we want to solve them, and I hope that someday this will happen,» Putin said.

Relations between Russia and Japan for many years overshadows the absence of a peace Treaty. Japan claims the Islands of Kunashir, Shikotan, Iturup and Habomai, referring to bilateral Treatise on trade and borders of 1855. The return of the Islands Tokyo made it a condition of signing a peace Treaty with Russia, which after the Second world war and was not signed. The position of Moscow consists that southern Kuriles became part of the Soviet Union at the end of the Second world war and the Russian sovereignty over them with appropriate international legal design, not subject to doubt.
