Deep-sea Autonomous apparatus for the study of the Mariana trench, created by request of Fund of perspective researches will take the basis in the development of the bathyscaphe for Russian travelers Artur Chilingarov and Fyodor Konyukhov, told in an interview to RIA Novosti the head of the design team of the advanced research Foundation Victor Litvinenko.

The famous Russian traveler Fyodor Konyukhov and scientist, oceanographer Arthur Chilingarov is now preparing for his expedition dive to the Mariana trench. As noted on the website Konyukhov, the project is implemented under the auspices of the Russian geographical society. It is expected not only to reach the bottom of the depression, but to remain there for 48 hours to carry out scientific experiments, including to take samples of soil from two tectonic plates (Philippine and Pacific), in which the cavity is formed. Grooms noted that it expects to dive in Russian submersibles.

«Yes, «the knight» will be just the groundwork that will allow to fulfill the tasks you plan to address, Artur Chilingarov and Fedor Konyukhov during the dive. How soon it will be, I find it difficult to say», said Litvinenko.

Deep-water Autonomous vehicle «Vityaz-D» created the Central design Bureau for marine engineering «Rubin» on behalf of the Fund.

The Mariana trench, the depth of which is almost 11 km was conquered by man in 1960, when Jacques Piccard (Switzerland) and don Walsh (USA) in the bathyscaphe Trieste reached a very deep point – the Challenger Deep portion. In 2012, their success was repeated by the American Director James Cameron.
