The electoral Commission of the Voronezh region declared the elections of the Governor of the region and approved their results, reported RIA Novosti chief consultant of the election Committee Anastasia Serjantova.

For the post of head of the region claimed six candidates: acting head of the Voronezh region Alexander Gusev — from the «United Russia» Nikolay Voronin, the Communist party, Arkady Minakov — from «homeland,» Igor Perevezentsev — from the «Party of growth», Vitaly Klimov — from «Fair Russia» Oleg Burtsev — from LDPR.

The turnout was 44,83%, Gusev scored space of 72.52% of the vote. The second was Voronin from 13.68%, the third — Burtsev from 6.25%. Perevezentsev and Klimov scored of 2.22% of the vote, Minakov at 1.58% of the vote.

«Today a meeting of the election Commission of the Voronezh region, which was signed a Protocol on results of elections of the Governor, and decided that elections of the Governor of the Voronezh region recognised as valid. Elected to the post of Governor is Aleksandr Gusev, who scored 602 638 votes,» said Serjantova.

The Voronezh region Governor is elected for 5 years and cannot hold office more than two consecutive terms. In the previous elections of Governor of the Voronezh region in the fall of 2014, the acting head of the region the candidate from the party «United Russia» Alexey Gordeyev has gained 88.81% of votes (952,271 thousand people).
