The absence of a peace Treaty between Russia and Japan still is nonsense, the signing of the document may be held on the territory of Russia «closer to Japan», said the Chairman of state Duma Committee on international Affairs Alexey chepa (CF).

Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed at the plenary session «the far East: expanding opportunities» at the Eastern economic forum to conclude a peace Treaty between Russia and Japan before the end of the year, without preconditions.

«We know that preliminary conditions were put forward mostly the Japanese side regarding the claims for (Kuril. — Approx. ed.), Islands. At the meeting in Vladivostok these questions were discussed, and the fact that so far between Russia and Japan have not concluded a peace Treaty is nonsense. Our relations are developing in the right direction, and the signing of such a Treaty will contribute to the development of our relations,» — said RIA Novosti chepa.

The politician does not consider the fundamental question of where a document will be signed.

«Where will be signed the contract? This, in my opinion, is not very crucial. Somewhere, probably closer to Japan. The main thing is to have signed, it would be very correct», — said the Deputy.
