The authorities of Samara region Zhigulevsk, having reviewed the request to conduct the city’s March «in support of the rights and freedoms of persons of homosexual orientation», refused in its holding, reported Wednesday RIA Novosti the representative of the administration of Zhigulevsk.

The notice of the August 27 March «in support of tolerant attitude and respect for the rights and freedoms of persons of homosexual orientation and gender minorities in Russia» with the approximate number of participants to 300 people were served in the administration of the city Zhigulevsk of the Samara region on August 13. August 15, the organizers received a waiver in the event from local authorities, who referred to the law banning propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations among minors.

The decision of the administration, the organizers of the demonstration appealed to the Zhigulevskaya city court in Samara region. Earlier it was reported that the administration of the city of Novoulyanovsk Ulyanovsk region allowed to hold Russia’s first gay pride parade in the village of Yabluneve, home to seven people. However, later authorities have denied the information on the harmonization of the procession.
