The European business is set to continue to invest in Russia, said Thursday the member of the Association of European businesses (AEB), sales Director of Siemens Russia Alexander Liberov.

«In those realities in which we now live, in the realities of sanctions, such dialogue is important,» he said at the session «Russia-Europe» in the framework of the Eastern economic forum.

«Europe is interested in Russia and the European business is very interested in, he wants to continue to work here and to invest in Russia. And Russia needs Europe,» he added of Liberia.

Relations between Russia and several Western countries have deteriorated the situation in Ukraine and around the Crimea. The West is accusing Russia of meddling, have imposed sanctions, Moscow responded, took a course on import substitution and has repeatedly said that talking with her in language of sanctions counterproductive.

Russia has repeatedly stated that it is not a party to the conflict in Ukraine and the subject of the Minsk agreements on the settlement. Lately in the EU clearly there are opinions on necessity of cancellation of sanctions against Russia.

Fourth Eastern economic forum will be held at the site of the far Eastern Federal University campus on the Russian island on September 11-13. MIA «Russia today» is the General information partner of the WEF.
