The us «very badly» solves questions of registration of visas to Russian diplomats, who should come to the place of expelled colleagues, told Russian journalists Russia’s Ambassador to the U.S. Anatoly Antonov.

«Permission to enter the United States for new employees are drawn badly. Their visa requests for long «hang» at the American Embassy, which prevents normal rotation of personnel. There have been cases of revocation of already issued visas,» he said.

According to Antonov, the Russian side has repeatedly offered the state Department a solution to visa problems.

«However, progress is not enough. Will use in the issuance of visas to Americans by the principle of reciprocity. One thing is clear: a return to normality in visa work depends on American willingness to engage with us on equal, mutually beneficial dialogue,» the Ambassador added.

Earlier, the US demanded to close the Consulate General in Seattle on April 2 and to vacate the building of the residence of the Consul General by 25 APR. This was done simultaneously with 60 expulsion of Russian diplomats from Washington and new York on suspicion in espionage and in response to the alleged involvement of Russia in the incident with the poisoning Sergei Skripal and his daughter in Britain.
