The number of operations for bone marrow transplantation in Russia in 2018 increased by 7%, it is planned to almost two thousand transplants, said the Vice-Premier of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova.

«This type of treatment to grow every year. I remind you that if in 2012 in the framework of high-tech medical care is not included in the base program of obligatory medical insurance, was held 896 transplants, in 2017, 1481 patients, including 380 children. In 2018 planned volume of bone marrow transplantation is 1998 patients, which is 7% higher than in 2017», — Golikova said at a meeting of the Council of the government of the Russian Federation on guardianship in the social sphere.

She noted that we are currently negotiating a program of the state guarantees to 2019-2021 years, which are expected to increase the number of transplants of bone marrow 150-200 annually.

«According to the Ministry of health, maximum amount need bone marrow transplants is 4214 cases in adults and 900 children,» — said Golikova.

Bone marrow transplantation today is performed by 18 medical institutions, 13 Federal and 5 regional. In the near future, according to Golikova, there are added 2, at the Krasnoyarsk regional clinical center of maternity and childhood and the Khabarovsk territorial clinical Oncology center.
