The foreign Ministers of China and France Wang and Jean-Yves Le Drian during talks in Beijing opposed the policy of unilateral actions and in support of multilateralism, said in a statement on the website of the Chinese foreign Ministry.

«Since the beginning of this year, the situation in the international arena has become more complex and volatile, multilateralism faces challenges, according to the principles of international rules struck. China and France are responsible of large States sharing a common commitment to peace and stability, openness and cooperation, development and progress. We are ready to work with France on strengthening strategic communication and coordination, to make the necessary contribution to the preservation of multilateralism, improve global governance, promoting peace and stability on the planet,» — said Wang Yi

Le Drian, in turn, also noted that «currently the world’s unilateralism and power politics are on the rise, France has adopted multilateralism and ready to increase coordination and cooperation with China, strengthen the international multilateral system».
