State of emergency (PC) was introduced on Friday in the city of Armyansk and the surrounding villages in the North of Crimea, where in late August there is air pollution due to emissions of chemical substances, said the head of the administration of the city of Armyansk Basil Telizhenko.

«Today the decision of the Committee of emergency situations entered emergency mode, literally at 19.00», — said Telizhenko reporters.

The regime will operate in Armyansk and the surrounding areas. He noted that the regime introduced for use by the territory of the reserve Fund of the Republic for liquidation of consequences of the situation. Deadlines CHS will also be determined by the Commission, he said.

The situation with kislotoustoichivam chemical plant «Crimean Titan» has become aggravated in the end of August, when, due to emission of the pollutant on the roofs of houses and the leaves of the trees of the city of Armyansk and the surrounding villages formed the oily coating with yellow tinge. On 4 September, experts recorded the excess of maximum permissible concentration of sulfur dioxide in the air. Chemical plant «Crimean Titan» is completely stopped. The government decided to evacuate children from the city of Armyansk and several villages of the district in health institutions.

Kislotostabilen is an open reservoir, built in the Soviet era. In recent years, the sump is considerably shallow, which led to the increase in the concentration of the remaining acid and evaporation of various chemicals into the atmosphere. The sump was filled with water coming through the North-Crimean channel, but after the reunification of the Peninsula with Russia, Ukraine has blocked the supply of the Dnieper water.
