The state Corporation «Roscosmos» during Friday talks with the delegation of India made a proposal for the participation of Russian specialists in the selection and training for space flight of Indian cosmonauts, told RIA Novosti source in the space industry.

Earlier, India announced plans to send national crew into orbit in 2022.

«We held talks with the Indian side. Proposal is made for the assistance of Russian specialists in various stages of selection of candidates on the flight and passing of training in Russia and assistance in the organization of subsequent training Indian astronauts in India itself,» — said the Agency interlocutor.

In April 1984, the Soviet spacecraft «Soyuz T‑11» flew into space, the joint Indo‑Soviet crew. The first Indian cosmonaut became a military pilot, Rakesh Sharma (Rakesh Sharma).
